Nansie
My Journey as a Caregiver
Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Nansie. I'm a sister, author, consultant, and lifelong caregiver advocate. More than 40 years ago, my brother survived a traumatic brain injury. In the years that followed, I experienced firsthand heartbreak, progress and setbacks. I gained the courage and resilience it takes to care for someone you love while trying not to lose myself in the process.

My brother John and me after he relearned to walk, talk and reclaim his life following his traumatic brain injury.
Professional Background
My work history includes a master's degree in clinical psychology and experience as a counselor, magazine publisher, and lifelong songwriter/storyteller. My memoir is a raw and reflective look at what it means to love someone back to life, even at immense personal sacrifice. It is my decades of real-life experience as a caregiver to my older brother that gives my writing its authenticity.
My Mission
I know firsthand that caregiving is messy. It's exhausting. And it's also full of unexpected moments of grace. Through this website, I offer resources, support, and understanding to help you navigate your own caregiving journey.
My goal is simple: to provide what I wish someone had provided for me during the most challenging times. You don't have to walk this road alone.
