My Journey as a Caregiver

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Nansie. I'm a sister, counselor, and lifelong caregiver advocate. More than 40 years ago, my brother survived a traumatic brain injury. In the years that followed, I experienced firsthand heartbreak, progress and setbacks. I gained the courage and resilience it takes to care for someone you love while trying not to lose myself in the process.

J & N

My brother John and me after he relearned to walk, talk and reclaim his life following his traumatic brain injury.

Professional Background

I have a master's degree in clinical psychology with a focus in narrative therapy. With decades of caregiving experience, and a heart for families walking this road, I created Care 4 Caregivers to do what I wish someone had done for me: help me through the difficult journey of caregiving.

My work history includes a twenty-year background as a publisher of Santa Barbara Family Life Magazine later known as SB FamilyLife, where I learned the power of storytelling and the importance of sharing our experiences to help others feel less alone.

My Mission

I know firsthand that caregiving is messy. It's exhausting. And it's also full of unexpected moments of grace. Through this website, I offer resources, support, and understanding to help you navigate your own caregiving journey.

My goal is simple: to provide what I wish someone had provided for me during the most challenging times. You don't have to walk this road alone.
